I started doing web design in the 6th grade after I ended up in a wheelchair, and ever since then I’ve always had a thing for doing web design. It helps me refresh my mind and gives me something to do during my spare time. I have done websites on a variety of things. I started working on an off-roading website, then moved to a blog about myself, and then moved to advertising wheelchair vans, and now I am working on Car Projects in British Columbia. I can build my own template and have the site online, and I was able to publish it in a day and a half with custom logos and buttons.
I am very happy about how far I have taken up web design over the years. It’s a great chance to use it as my future job. I am thanking Set-BC for the laptop; it has helped a lot with my Web Design class and my other classes because programs like Co-Writer are very helpful in helping me with my school work.
I have gotten many awards for doing web design. I was sponsored by my elementary school, Mount Pleasant Elementary School, when I graduated from Grade 7 to take summer school for Web Designing and Flash. It was a great opportunity for me to take this challenge and learn how to create designs via the use of a computer.
I am currently taking Web Design 11. I do most of my websites on Cars and Automotive because I like working with cars and I have taken Automotive as an elective for two years in a row. I also grew up around cars and auto body shops because my dad was a mechanic, so I was able to learn a lot from him before he passed away in 2008. I learned web design hanging around my older brother; he had six websites online for off-roading in 100 Mile House and Chilliwack.
